Getting ready to have a fun day!!!

We are having a SUNDAY FUN day tomorrow at church!
Everyone is so excited we can hardly stand it!
We are going to have a Bounce House, snow cones, pizza,
a cake walk, JAMBA JUICE, an obstacle course and so much more!!!
It was decided that I must post a picture... or two... or three of the preparations....
So here is what I found...
I also may or may not have heard voices,
or made up voices or jokes in my head as I was taking pictures.
They also may or may not be funny.
You decide.
It does help if you read the captions out loud and they may or may not be funnier that way.

Of course you could always make up more captions and comment. That would be even funnier!

There will be candy. Enough Said!

"I. can. not. wait. to. sell. bottles. of. water."
Should we have free pony rides? Hmmm.
STEPHANIE: "Alissa is going to sell CUPCAKES!"
ALISSA: "I am going to have to sell HOW MANY?"
STEPHANIE:"405!"

ALISSA:"That's OK! You have to wear a poodle skirt!"

STEPHANIE:"A What?" ALISSA: Silence. Smiles

They are working on the aging Booth. Wait-Is that next to the Guess your age booth?
"We are having a Fun Day tomorrow? Oh, I just made a 84 point words on words with friends!"

Funny Friday: Sleeping in an Art form

PECANS IN THE CEMETERY

On the outskirts of a small town, there was a big, old pecan tree just inside the cemetery fence. One day, two boys filled up a bucketful of nuts and sat down by the tree, out of sight, and began dividing the nuts.

'One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me,'  said one boy. Several dropped and rolled down toward the fence.

Another boy came riding along the road on his bicycle. As he passed, he thought he heard voices from inside the cemetery. He slowed down to investigate. Sure enough, he heard, 'One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me.'

He just knew what it was. He jumped back on his bike and rode off. Just around the bend he met an old man with a cane, hobbling along.

'Come here quick,' said the boy, 'you won't believe what I heard! Satan and the Lord are down at the cemetery dividing up the souls.'

The man said, 'Beat it kid, can't you see it's hard for me to walk.' When the boy insisted though, the man hobbled slowly to the cemetery.

Standing by the fence they heard, 'One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me.'

The old man whispered, 'Boy, you've been tellin' me the truth. Let's see if we can see the Lord.'

Shaking with fear, they peered through the fence, yet were still unable to see anything. The old man and the boy gripped the wrought iron bars of the fence tighter and tighter as they tried to get a glimpse of the Lord.

At last they heard, 'One for you, one for me. That's all. Now let's go get those nuts by the fence and we'll be done.'

They say the old man made it back to town a full 5 minutes ahead of the kid on the bike

When I wash my dishes I have JOY!

I have a really hard time doing housework. I get so distracted! I will admit I also just get in a funk... I am a PROCRASTINATOR!
I don't want to do the dishes!
I don't want to do ANY more laundry!
I look at all these chores as simply that CHORES.
However these are NOT simply chores! They are ways that I get to bless my family!
(for those of you that have heard of her you will read lots of FlyLady in this post lol)

I wash those shirts and pants so Will can work and look so handsome in his uniform.
I wash Bentley's blankets so he can have something soft to snuggle with when he sleeps. There is love and pride in my family that goes into every fold and every crease. These dishes I wash create a spot to eat lovingly made meals off of. (even if they are burnt because the knob on our stove is backwards and I never know how high I am cooking so I guess and I am always wrong)

My mom had a dream about this. She dreamed that we were at a Ladies' Meeting and I got up and testified! I told how I just moved into a new house with a window over the sink and I have always had a hard time doing dishes but now I can look out the window and it gives me JOY! Mom said that I testified and said over and over... I do my dishes and I get JOY!... I do my dishes and I get JOY!... I look out the window and I get JOY! Joy! Joy!JOY!

And I really have always had a hard time keeping my dishes done! Until I learned a lot of lessons through FlyLady and others. You can do ANYthing in fifteen minutes at a time! Time how long it takes you to do your dishes! I know that you will be surprised! Lace up your shoes, set a timer and go to town on a project you hate... Washing dishes, folding clothes, sorting mail, whatever- Just get up and do it!
I still have not charged my camera so this is a phone pic but you get  the idea...

Now this is a view out my window... And actually it does bring me JOY! However my joy comes from serving my family, that view is just an added bonus.

I gotta stop writing- I gotta go do the dishes... :)
