Fair (PICS part TWO!)

I want to tell you about this picture as gently as possible.
There are many sheep shearing stations at the fair. Don't get to close to them!
Oh! Look! Photogenic Little girl! Seriously I have quite a few of this girl while trying to get a silhouette photo of Miss. Betsy the Cow. I never got my shot, but she looks good in every one!

See what I mean?!? Seriously, I do not take that good of pictures. I don't have the talent and I know it. Gorgeous!
(unlike another professional photographer who doesn't know shes professional.)
This is only for the enjoyment of the fact that I held a baby goat. Please ignore my face entirely.

Here is Mama Goat. She looks so tired, wouldn't you? Three KIDS!
 Cows Tongues are so weird.
What is even weirder is some people chop them up, cook them, and PUT THEM IN TACOS!
This cow was really annoyed that I was taking so many pictures...
This girl was placing her order, when all of  sudden she just lept inside the booth! Can you believe it!

Actually, what happened is this girl gave me her camera and told me to take pictures. OKAY!
The is called the STEPHANIECAM!
This is her perspective! Her point of view!

One More Pic of our awesome booth!
And our incredible sign!!!! Look at the food pictures! If you need pictures of food taken, I can give you some contact information for our photographer! They are absolutely amazing! They seriously looked good enough to eat!!!

These are pictures of the zipline... This boy inspires me! He was so scared to death and he STILL went up there! So what if he didn't jump! Even though people promised cash and ice cream and everything... I wouldn't have been able to climb past the fifth stair!

Our two dinner order takers rocked. Seriously! We have never sold so much guacamole in our lives! (actually I really don't know that for sure, but I have a pretty good guess!)
They took "Do you want fries with that?" to a whole new level.
That's amateur stuff.
These two would up-sell you to an apple soda or an orange crush!
They had a contest to see who could sell the most in one night!
The first night it was Orange Crush, and the winner got a FREE MASSAGE.
If he won, he got one from his wife. If she won, she got one from his wife.
  It was a win-win situation.

Of course, the masseuse might have been pressured into giving a massage, since she didn't know the rules or the fact that she was the presenter of the winner's gift.

Having sent one too many Nacho Supremes to Heaven, we all started losing our minds.
(OK, so someone ordered a Nacho Supreme and their name just happened to be Heaven. So, (paraphrasing a lot here) when we asked each other where the Nacho Supreme went- It went straight to HEAVEN!

This is pretty much where I lost my mind. Lack of sleep caused this. And an overabundance of Joy from working for the LORD? I don't know. I was taking an order and they said the word Churro, and I lost it.
Right there.
Laughed until I cried and ran out of the booth with tears streaming down my face, laughing so hard I thought I would die.
I still wish to know what the poor person who only wanted a churro thought of my antics.
I was not laughing at you, sir, I promise. Please come visit our church and I will try my best to calmly shake your hand.

And I sat there and laughed and laughed. I am so glad they didn't fire me over this one!
Nope! I QUIT!
But I came back the next day. So hold your breath! There is a Part 3 coming.....

Dont Ever Start Something Tiring Tired (Fair Pics PART 1!)

So this cute embarrassing photo is of two exhausted individuals. If you notice the pink object in my hand. That is a piece of my phone. I was excited to have just recovered it. You see, we were finishing up cleaning the church at about 1 am when I realized I didn't have my phone. I had Will call it and all of a sudden the trash bag started ringing! Then I realized I didn't have the back of my phone and we had to dumpster dive (just like old times!) And this is how tired we started FAIR WEEK!

Every year our church has a booth in the Porterville Fair. We sell amazing food and bring in amazing profits. We always have amazing interactions with one another as well!

This was the most heart-stopping point of the Fair:

Whew! Thank God this was only an ambulance that was open for the kids to see! After "Walking on Water" riding the zipline, petting baby goats, seeing the Monkey show, and seeing the pig races, THIS was the highlight of Bentley's fair experience.

I really am not sure what is happening in these photos, so I will just make up dialogue....

"You always get the bigger half!"
"Do not!"
"Do too!"
"FINE! We will both pull our half off at the same time with our lips!"
"No Hands though!"

" There we go! Like that!"
 "Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd, we have a WINNER!"

(Warning: Consuming over the normal amount of churros will result in pure silliness)

We had great plans to take pictures of everyone that fell asleep. This was by far the winner. She looks like an angel. We were all jealous of sleep of any kind is more like it!

Don't fall asleep yet! There is more to come!

FOUR GOT THE HOLY GHOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously I continue to be overwhelmed by the absolute awesomeness of what God can do. This past week we got to enjoy Elder David Abbott preach to us in revival. And Revival we had! He is such an amazing man, he takes you right down to a child's perspective and back to the basics. The Holy Ghost is the presence of God living inside of you with the evidence being talking in tongues, and I never cease to be amazed at this wonderful experience. I am so honored and blessed to be living and walking in this great truth!

I am going to admit that some of these pictures are stolen from
Sorry I know its cheating, but I didn't always have my camera out this week.

So we had FOUR people get the Holy Ghost for the first time, and two of them have already been baptized in Jesus' name and we got to see the other two baptized this week! We had quite a few visitors and Sunday morning we had had over 100 people in service! The majority were kids, some even came back for Sunday night!!!

This girl is amazing: Danae Joy. Her voice, her obvious strong relationship with God, her sensitivity. Wow! We got her new CD: In the Sanctuary. AMAZING! ( I also real quick don't want to forget her mom, You can just tell that Sis. Abbott walks in the Holy Ghost! How I would love to spend an afternoon with this lady!!!)
Our local paparazzi decided they needed pictures of the Abbott family for our amazing church website, but suddenly ran out of photographers. So I hear, "Sis. Laura, we need you for pictures!" So, feeling quite bold and proud of myself, instead of going up to help take pictures of everyone, I walk up to the front and pose. I suddenly realized what I was doing in front of this extremely dignified family. I mean, this is like ROYALTY in Pentecost! I turn bright red, and then the cameras are flashing, and there we have it. This gem of a photo right here. I will always cherish this photo, because its taken with DANAE. And she will look at this one day, and be like, What on Earth! Who was that crazy woman!

Speaking of treasures, this is one of those too!
 and this one!
This is a picture of our Pastor's son that I took as my temporary role as photographer. The others vanished quickly. Oh and look at the rest of the family back there! HI!!!

This is one night about a couple weeks ago when Stephanie got to hold the offering plate! yay!

She might kill me for posting it, but I think its worth it. Study everyone's faces in this photo. Study harder. Imagine what each person might be thinking about. Am I the only one that does this to photos??

Anyways, I am getting silly, or maybe I am just overfilled with the Joy of the Lord....

Speaking of the Joy of the Lord,
We are so blessed to have this family as our Pastor's family. Thank God, they know how to laugh!

Until next time!!!

:) ~Laura
